Infinitely Loving Parent of every one of us,
Help us to trust your plan for our lives more than our own. Help us to yield to your will and trust that You always know what is best for us – what will grow us, what will awaken us to what is most important.
Help us to learn to yield to You. Plant the desire to yield to You deep in our hearts today and help us to learn to water it with the quiet listening that is needed to hear your guidance.
Help us to slow down enough in the midst of our often overscheduled, busy lives to hear your still, small voice. I know You are always speaking to us, but I also know we are not always listening. Thank You for your patient, constant, loving direction.
When the restless urgency of mortal activity intrudes on our truly important work of walking out your plan for our lives, help us to be watchful and alert….standing porter/guarding the door of our thinking more and more consistently, until we are allowing only your thoughts to enter.
And Lord, give us the courage to follow your leadings, even if the world doesn’t approve or understand. Help us to desire your pleasure more than human approval and recognition.
Oh God, who’s very name is Love, give us the courage to follow the pathway of faith, not the path of fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). And when that pathway seems to be hard, teach us to lean more on You. And let us learn the habit of finding the blessing in all things.
Most of all, God, help us to have unshakeable trust in your timing and unfoldment of our lives. Your way is always perfect and much better than anything we could come up with. Take our lives and make them the beautiful unfoldment of your plan that You would have them be.
